CoolBitX Shines at DLT101 & World Blockchain Summit Taipei 2019 Editions

Last week burgeoning blockchain hub Taipei played host to both the high-profile DLT101 Tech Summit and World Blockchain Summit (WBS) Taipei conferences during its unofficial “blockchain week”.

Hundreds of the industry’s leading movers and shakers converged on the blockchain island’s capital city for a week of discussions, networking and of course fundraising.

Oh, and John McAfee chimed in via a prerecorded video clip from somewhere in the Bahamas.

CoolBitX, a top-funded Taiwanese Fintech company with its headquarters in Taipei and the proud makers of the CoolWallet S, made their presence felt at both events.

CoolBitX CEO Michael Ou joined an insightful panel discussion on “Traditional Industries Implementing DLT” at DLT101. As he’s also the current chairman of EMV-certified and listed Fintech company SmartDisplayer, Michael has an unrivaled understanding of both the traditional and virtual banking industries and shared his insights with a sold-out audience.

DLT101 Tech Summit (4/24-27)

Taipei was recently voted as the friendliest place in Asia for distributed ledger technology and digital nomads and the bustling Syntrend building made for a perfect setting for the first DLT101 Tech Summit Taipei.

Branded as Taipei’s first global DLT consortium, DLT101 brought lawmakers, regulators, corporates, and related enterprises together with a four-day agenda filled with high-octane events and 1500+ attendees from across the world. It was organized by BoostX and Pentabase.

Crypto congressman Jason Hsu opened the DLT101 Summit Thursday afternoon with a warm introduction to Taiwan’s blockchain industry.

Next up was a panel discussion on the regulatory framework for STO’s and DLT, followed by Bitcoin Cash evangelist Roger Ver who gave a brief talk on how cryptocurrencies will change the world.

Ted Lin from Binance also waxed lyrical about the cold storage virtues of the new Binance DEX. Good news to CoolWallet S users, the Binance DEX will indeed be integrated and supported by the CoolWallet!

STO and Regulation- crypto’s buzzwords of 2019

Broached in almost every panel discussion or speech were 2019’s hot two topics in crypto, namely incoming AML/KYC regulation and specifically the anticipated rise of Secure Token Offerings (STO).

Both subjects are also firmly on CoolBitX’s radar, with the hardware wallet company set to release exciting new products and features that will benefit from new developments in these areas by as soon as next month.

An eclectic array of panel speakers gave informed overviews of the current regulatory landscape as it stands in countries from Gibraltar to Singapore, while speakers like Darren Camas from the Security Token Network and Roy Ma from L.A.B.S delved deeper into the potential benefits and applications that STO’s stand to present to small-to-medium investors, for example, fractional ownership in tokenized luxury real estate projects.

World Blockchain Summit Taipei (4/25-26)

About 30 minutes away in the swanky Hilton Sinban hotel, the World Blockchain Summit held its 2019 Taipei edition over a jam-packed 2 days.

Endorsed by the New Taipei City government, Trescon’s World Blockchain Summit Taipei put global blockchain experts and technology elite in direct contact with regional businesses, governments, IT leaders, investors and blockchain developers from around the world to exchange notes on the benefits, use cases and advances that blockchain technology is making in various sectors in the APAC region.

The invited speakers hailed from around the globe, and represented among others, the USA, European Union Parliament, Dubai, Russia, China, Switzerland, Belgium, and Japan.

A lively “Startup World Cup” was well-attended, with participants provided with only a few minutes to impress potential investors with their big idea’s.

There was a noticeable crossover between both the attendees and speakers of these two events, which was necessary given the overlap of dates and costs associated with attending these high-profile events.

Next on CoolBitX’s calendar is the big one- Consensus New York 2019. Stay tuned for some industry-shaking news from us in a few weeks!
