CoolWallet joined one of the best crypto events in Europe this ween when team members attended the European Blockchain Convention 2022 (EBC2022) to connect with the best and brightest in crypto land and find out what's next in Web3, NFTs, the metaverse, and all the upcoming areas in blockchain.

We also learned about other technical and business fields that are pivoting towards the blockchain space and using DLT and crypto for some amazing applications in everything from biotechnology to cloud computing.

CoolBitX chose EBC2022 to create awareness for both groundbreaking cold storage brand CoolWallet, the world's original mobile hardware wallet, and Sygna, our easy-to-use anti-money laundering platform that helps exchanges comply with regulations.

About EBC2022

European Blockchain Convention 2022, which first ran in 2017, was held from 26 to 28 June 2022 at the swanky Hyatt Regency Barcelona and is billed as the most influential blockchain event in Europe. There were over 1500 attendees from all fields and destinations in the crypto and tech sectors, including Web3, DeFi, NFTs, biotech, cybersecurity, and institutional custodianship, gathered over the 3-day event to discuss the latest in crypto and blockchain.


EBC2022 had a stacked agenda, which was opened by Daniel Marco from the Catalan Government.

The array of panel and keynote talks covered a multitude of amazing topics that covered the latest progress and obstacles in Web3, NFTs, DeFi, Metaverse, P2E Gaming and crypto regulation. Web3 talks dominated the agenda, with several talks covering the multitude of opportunities and applications that the world's hottest new crypto-related sector is unlocking.

Speakers from traditional fields such as TradFi, biotechnology, cybersecurity, cloud computing, healthcare, intellectual property, commercial law,social media, creator economies, digital marketing, and environmental sustainability also showcased how their companies are incorporating blockchain applications in order to disrupt their various industries for a competitive or simply the greater good.

Can Hardware Wallets Be Tampered With? How CoolWallet Fights Hardware Implants

Recent reports of stolen crypto assets involving some Ledger users have raised concerns about hardware wallet supply chain security.

According to public reports, Ledger is investigating losses reported by users who purchased devices through CryptoBilis, a reseller in Southeast Asia. Ledger has also requested that the reseller temporarily suspend sales and shipments while the investigation continues.

The full attack method, scope of impact, and responsibility have yet to be conclusively established.

The incident highlights an important security consideration: Protecting private keys inside a secure chip is essential, but hardware wallet security must also account for the possibility of physical tampering before a device reaches its owner.
