Today we're sharing a review from our second CoolWallet S Anniversary winner, Corey Taylor, aka "Bogzkie1" on Twitter.

Corey describes himself on Twitter as a "Full-time Test Technician, Crypto Enthusiast, Trader-wannabe, a full-blooded Rocker that loves Spotify". He is also a proud dad that will utilize his CoolWallet as an investment tool, to build a crypto fund for his son. That's fricking awesome👏👏👏💯.

Corey's Review:

Firstly, I want to thank CoolBitX for the customized Coolwallet S they gifted me during their Anniversary campaign.

I've been recently looking to get a completely offline and secure cryptocurrency wallet, one that I could use to store coins that I've been saving for my son.

For that, I wanted to get a top-quality hardware wallet, as we all know cold wallets are more secure than hot wallets. Plus, with a hardware wallet like the CoolWallet S, to transfer any funds, you need to give a physical confirmation on the device itself by pushing the button.

Since it was a customized wallet, I chose to let CoolBitX write my son's name on it, because it will be used to store funds that I've been saving for him.

Packaging and Design

The package arrived in a perfect condition, totally sealed, no tampering whatsoever. Complete with charging dock, cable, recovery seed cards, manual and of course the sticker.

As a first time user of a hardware wallet, I was quite amazed by its design (almost the same size of a debit card) compared to others that are somewhat bulky. That is for me is a big plus for convenience.

Setup and Best Features

Setting up the wallet was fast. The video on the website was helpful and the CoolWallet easily connected to my phone via Bluetooth. I could say that it was almost as fast as downloading/installing a wallet app on my phone.

One of the best features of this wallet is the exchange function (to connect with Changelly and Binance DEX) and I will definitely be using that one.

Thanks for your review Corey, and we hope you put your CoolWallet S to good use. We can't think of a better way to use the CoolWallet S than as a tool to help secure your child's future.

If you, like Corey, are looking for a hardware wallet that you can use to build a long term HODL fund for yourself or friends and family, then look no further than in a CoolWallet S. It's the ideal cold wallet to gradually build your crypto funds up, just like you would with a savings account at a bank where you deposit your savings in each month.

Please remember though: cryptocurrencies can be a risky investment and are very volatile in price by nature. Invest wisely and only spend what you can afford to lose.

Recent reports of stolen crypto assets involving some Ledger users have raised concerns about hardware wallet supply chain security.

According to public reports, Ledger is investigating losses reported by users who purchased devices through CryptoBilis, a reseller in Southeast Asia. Ledger has also requested that the reseller temporarily suspend sales and shipments while the investigation continues.

The full attack method, scope of impact, and responsibility have yet to be conclusively established.

The incident highlights an important security consideration: Protecting private keys inside a secure chip is essential, but hardware wallet security must also account for the possibility of physical tampering before a device reaches its owner.
