Wrap FLR via WalletConnect

According to the Flare Improvement Proposal 01 (FIP.01), 85% of the Flaredrop distribution will be shared among all holders of wrapped FLR. CoolWallet supports the wrapped FLR (WFLR) token and Dapp connection via WalletConnect, enabling you to wrap your FLR directly using CoolWallet.

Step 1. Add wrapped FLR (WFLR) to your CoolWallet. Click “Manage” on the Wallet page and then click on the “+” button on the top-right corner.

Step 2. Select ”Add Custom Token” and paste the contract address of WFLR, which you can find on the Flare Explorer or simply copy it below. Click “Add” to add WFLR to your wallet.

Step 3. If you successfully add the WFLR token, it will appear on your wallet page.

Step 4. Go to the official Flare Network Portal (https://portal.flare.network/) and connect your wallet by selecting WalletConnect.

Step 5. Scan the QR code using the WalletConnect service available in the Marketplace to connect your wallet.

Step 6. Select the wallet you wish to use to connect to the Flare Network, and then click “Connect”. Here we will use a cold wallet to illustrate the process as an example.

Step 7. After your CoolWallet is connected to the Flare Network, you will see your wallet address on the top-right corner of the Flare Network browser interface. You can also check the FLR balance on this page. Please click “Wrap” to wrap your FLR.

Step 8. Type in the amount of FLR you want to wrap. It is recommended to leave some unwrapped FLR tokens to pay for transaction fees, according to the official guide from the Flare Network.

Step 9. Please check the transaction details carefully, and confirm the transaction with your CoolWallet Pro/S.

Step 10. Please follow the instructions and press the button on the CoolWallet Pro/S.

Step 11. After you successfully wrap FLR, you can see your new WFLR balance on your CoolWallet and the official Flare Network Portal. You can also unwrap your FLR by clicking on “Unwrap” and approving the transaction.
