Technically, yes — but we strongly discourage it.
Here’s why using the same recovery phrase across multiple wallets (like CoolWallet Pro and CoolWallet Go) can compromise your overall security, especially your cold storage setup.
🔐 What happens if I import the same recovery phrase?
When you import the same recovery phrase into another device, you’re giving both wallets access to the exact same private keys and crypto assets. While this might seem convenient, it comes with real security risks.
You lose cold wallet protection
CoolWallet Pro is designed to keep your private keys 100% offline, secured inside a CC EAL6+ secure element with visual confirmation on an E-ink screen. This isolation is the foundation of its cold storage security.
If you import the same seed into CoolWallet Go — or worse, into a software wallet on a phone or computer — you break that cold storage model. The private keys are now exposed to more devices, more surfaces, and higher risk.
If one wallet is compromised, all wallets using that seed are compromised.
✅ Best practice: Create a new wallet on CoolWallet Go
We strongly recommend:
-
Creating a new wallet on your CoolWallet Go device
-
Storing the new recovery phrase safely and separately
-
Managing CoolWallet Pro and CoolWallet Go as two independent wallets
That way, each wallet maintains its own security boundary, and your assets remain protected.
