As long as you remember your pairing password, moving your wallet to a new phone only takes a few steps.
The first screen you see depends on how you set up your new phone, so choose the method that matches your situation.
| How you set up your new phone | Go to |
|---|---|
| You downloaded and installed the CoolWallet App from scratch | Method 1 |
| You used a phone transfer feature (such as iPhone Quick Start), so the app came across with your other data | Method 2 |
Method 1: Installing the app on your new phone
- Download and install the latest version of the CoolWallet App on your new phone
- Open the app and select I already have a card → CoolWallet Go
- Select Restore Wallet, then tap Bind with CoolWallet Go
- Enter your 8-digit pairing password
- Tap your card as prompted on screen, and your wallet will be restored
A quick note
Once your wallet is restored, the CoolWallet App automatically restores your Bitcoin (BTC Taproot) and Ethereum (ETH) assets. Other coins — such as BTC Custom Segwit, BNB and USDT — need to be added back to your wallet list manually before their balances will appear.
Method 2: Transferring your data to the new phone
If the app came across with the rest of your data through iPhone Quick Start, the process is even shorter.
- Open the CoolWallet App on your new phone. You'll see New device detected
- Tap Re-pair
- Tap your main card
- Enter your 8-digit pairing password. That's it — you're done
After you've finished
- Wait until your new phone has restored the wallet and you can see your balances before selling, repairing or factory-resetting your old phone.
- Your pairing password doesn't change — it's still the same one, so keep looking after it.
